More than $395,000 Raised during
6th annual “Day of Giving”

Stories of hope and healing, and the world-class care that made them possible, took over the airwaves on Thursday, September 17, when Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s came together for the 6th annual Day of Giving. In partnership with WJAR NBC-10 and Cumulus Media Providence, the daylong radio-telethon brought the hospitals’ lifesaving work to the community while raising $395,131 to support patient care, education, research, and more.

Throughout the day, listeners and viewers across the region tuned in to hear from grateful patients and hospital staff, who shared powerful stories of strength and overcoming the odds in the face of life-threatening illness.

Hasbro Children’s Announces ‘Brite Lites’

Hasbro Children’s announced its 2025 Brite Lite award winners at a ceremony held in the hospital’s Balise Healing Garden. Awardees are Brown University Health employees who are nominated by Hasbro Children’s patients and their families for their dedication and compassion shown to pediatric patients under their care.

30th Annual Hasbro Children’s Golf Invitational
Sets a New Record

On July 20, 2026, under sunny skies and ideal course conditions, 128 golfers enjoyed a memorable 30th annual Hasbro Children’s Golf Invitational at Rhode Island Country Club. The day proved to be a winner on and off the greens, setting a new fundraising record of $500,000 to support programs such as the Aubin Child Protection Center and pediatric hematology/oncology.

Lawrence A. Aubin, Sr., Chairman Emeritus of the Brown University Health Board of Directors, has chaired the event since its inception and was joined this year by new co-chair, Jesse Carr. Jesse carried on the legacy of his late father, James L. “Jamo” Carr, Jr., who served as co-chair for 17 years. Together, they honored Jamo while helping shape the event’s next chapter.

Since 2007, Spirit of Children has raised over $164 million through the generous support of guests, associates, and business partners, providing critical Child Life resources to pediatric hospital partners across North America, including Hasbro Children's. Spirit of Children has donated over $1.4 million to Hasbro Children's.

Big Hearts Hitting the Road for Hasbro

This past August, 135 motorcycles revved their engines, signaling the start of the 10th annual Goodfellas’ Bike Run, which raised $34,000 in support of Hasbro Children’s. While motorcycles and children may seem like an unlikely combination, the inspiration for the annual ride comes straight from the heart. “Hasbro Children’s has taken care of just about every family we know, so it feels right to raise money to support this great hospital,” shares one of Goodfella’s original founders, Anthony Calabro. Over the past ten years, with special thanks to their angel investor, Bruno Ramieri, these big-hearted bikers have raised nearly $200,000 for Hasbro Children’s.
