Newport Hospital Names Community Advisory Panel Members to Help Shape Future of Birthing Center

Newport Hospital has named the members of the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) who will assist in evaluating the future of the Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing Center. The panel includes patients, representatives from philanthropic and community organizations, employees, and maternal health experts who will offer guidance and recommendations throughout the review process.

He’s done all of it with great gusto, too ... Unfortunately, the impact of Bennett’s ultra demanding athletic pursuits on his body has been no laughing matter. “I really destroyed my back over the years,” he concedes.

Colon Cancer Symptoms, Signs and Screenings

March is designated as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a type of cancer that begins in the large intestine or colon. The colon is the last part of the gastrointestinal (GI) system and serves to absorb nutrients and eliminate feces. CRC most commonly starts as a precancerous growth, or polyp, that grows slowly over years in the colon. CRC generally forms on the inner lining of the colon, but it can also grow through the wall of the colon and spread to other organs.
