How can you capture the essence of Ellen Lebeuf in a few short paragraphs?
Ellen Lebeuf, was a nurse’s nurse. For almost 50 years, Rhode Island Hospital was her second home and the people who worked with and around her were her second family.
Some may have had the pleasure of working with or for El; others may have known El only by reputation, a reputation steeped in the core values of nursing and humanity… caring, healing, hope, integrity, and the acceptance of diversity.
She made it a point to make everyone feel acknowledged, important, and included. It was Ellen’s desire and drive to humanize healthcare, uplift the people who worked at Rhode Island Hospital and encourage anyone who expressed a desire to further their education to, “Go for it!” and to be the best they could be.
Because education was so important to Ellen, we hope you will consider making a gift to support the Ellen Lebeuf Memorial Education Award at Rhode Island Hospital. Your donation will help keep her memory alive by providing the staff of the hospital with financial support to further their education. Please know that a gift of any amount will make a difference.
If you have any questions about the fund or how to donate, please contact Chris Josephson at chris.josephson@lifespan.org or 401-444-6412 at the Rhode Island Hospital Foundation.
