The Miriam Hospital's Gala & Auction 2024 Fund-a-Need

The 2024 Miriam Hospital Gala & Auction's fund-a-need supports the crucial and growing need for mobile integrated healthcare and will directly impact The Miriam Hospital and its surrounding community. Funds raised will support the expansion of MIH by hiring a second community health worker dedicated to The Miriam emergency department, as well as a mobile integrated healthcare program coordinator, and provide funds needed for staff and patient care supplies for the next 18 months.

The 2023 Miriam Hospital Gala & Auction's fund-a-need proceeds will help bring groundbreaking and lifesaving technology to the Women’s Cardiovascular Program at The Miriam, making it the only program in Rhode Island to use innovative diagnostic imaging to detect coronary artery abnormalities unique to women.

 

Meet Michelle, survivor of “widow making” cardiac event

Michelle had no history of cardiac disease when she was diagnosed with spontaneous coronary artery dissection, an emergency condition that occurs when a tear forms in a blood vessel in the heart. Thanks to her cardiac team at The Miriam Hospital, Michelle has made a full recovery. The 2023 Miriam gala supports women’s cardiac health.

The 2022 Miriam Hospital Gala & Auction's fund-a-need proceeds will help make the vision of a lung cancer screening and nodule program a reality at The Miriam Hospital. Our multidisciplinary, team-based approach, which will include a nurse navigator, will bring together recognized leaders and care specialists in medical oncology, thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, pulmonology, and pathology in the early detection and treatment of lung cancer.

 

Young mother, diagnosed with lung cancer, finds treatment at The Miriam

Kristen thought she had the flu but was instead diagnosed with a nodule on her lung that turned out to be cancer. Treated at The Miriam, and healthy today, she is grateful for the care she received. The 2022 gala and auction fund-a-need will help make the vision of a lung cancer screening and nodule program a reality at The Miriam Hospital and will better assist patients like Kristen in the early detection and treatment of lung cancer.
