The day’s events included a presentation by hospital leadership and a group meditation session led by Bob Roth, the CEO of the David Lynch Foundation. Also in attendance was Stuart Rothenberg, MD, FAAFP, the national director of the Transcendental Meditation Health Professionals Program and the national medical director of Maharishi Ayurveda Association of America.

The foundation also toured the hospital and met with those who have participated in TM training.

Since receiving a grant in 2021, The Miriam Hospital has trained more than 60 employees in TM, with sessions led by TM educator Marcia Kaspark. The hospital has been recognized in the medical community for its leadership in incorporating TM into employee wellness initiatives, initially as a resource during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The David Lynch Foundation is named after the famed movie and television director who passed away earlier this year. The organization is dedicated to bringing TM to individuals and communities as a method for managing stress and trauma. The foundation has introduced the technique to over 500,000 people worldwide.

The visit highlights The Miriam Hospital’s ongoing efforts to support staff well-being and reinforce a positive work environment.
